• Science: Does Evolution Theory Hold up to the Rigors of “True Science”? | Genesis Apologetics
  • Darwin made three critical mistakes. (1) Darwin dismissed mass extinctions as idiomatic expressions of a poor geologic record. (2) Darwin assumed that the diversity of a species increases exponentially over time, just like the individual species does. (3) Darwin considered biotic interactions the primary cause of species extinction.
  • There are three other flaws: (1) The universe hasn’t been around long enough for the geological timescale needed for complex life forms to evolve. (2) Darwin couldn’t explain how genetic variation can persist over an evolutionary time scale. (3) The evolution of cooperation can’t be explained by Darwinism.
  • The Theory of Evolution - Advanced | CK-12 Foundation
  • Darwin’s theory started with the study of beak shapes in Galapagos finches. The theory begins with the premise that a population has trait variations. Diverse groups of animals have a common ancestor. Millions of species alive today arose from a single original life form through a branching process called specialization. (A structural adaptation of a body part to a particular function of an organism).
  • Overproduction in nature happens, and many do not make it to adulthood. Most species produce more offspring than can survive. Competition for food and space follows. Differentiation within a species happens. Adaptation means traits that increase suitability to a species’ environment will be passed on.
  • Darwinism makes statements about two different, though related, issues: (1) Organisms are related by common descent. (2) Evolutionary history shows that when lineages split from one another, these changes occur in each lineage.
