The Grand Unification Theory is a model that tries to describe the universe.

There is evidence that the strengths of the different forces vary with the energy so that they converge in high energies. However, the energies involved are extremely high, more than a million times as great as the energy scale of electro-weak unification, which numerous experiments have already verified.
GUTs describe the interactions of quarks and leptons within the same theoretical structure. This gives rise to the possibility that quarks can decay leptons and other specific particles.
GUT models are complicated because they need to introduce additional fields, interactions, and space dimensions. It is challenging to reproduce observable fermion masses mixing angles related to the existence of additional family symmetries beyond the conventional GUT models.
