  • The strong nuclear force holds atoms together. It is the most potent particle force, with a short range of one-half of an atom.
  • The electromagnetic force is weak but has a galaxy-wide range.
  • The weak force is unbelievably soft. Its range is 1/100th of an atom.
  • Gravity is the weakest of the four forces, but its range is universe-wide.
  • Newton defined gravity in 1666. Everything accelerates at the same rate.
  • Particles can be described as waves.
  • In science, to falsify something is to rule it out. It is falsified by experiment. Testable predictions are needed.
  • Thermodynamics is the study of the large-scale properties of matter.
  • Thermodynamics is a description of macroscopic objects with large numbers of particles.
  • Reality is elegant. Its underlying field is the fabric of space-time. It bends, warps, and undulates underneath reality.

    • Every symmetry of physics laws leads to a conservation law, and every conservation law arises from a symmetry in the laws of physics.
