The SDS Port Huron Manifesto in June of 1962 kick-started the revolution in America. They knew which way the wind blow. Anti-war protest groups soon after. Black Power arrived a few years later. An alphabet soup of youth protest groups grew in numbers. Europe was in youth protest, too. Rebellion was blowing in the wind from everywhere. Racial justice and racial equity was their clarion call. Anti-war demonstrations were added a few years later. The system is evil. We will change it. We will control our destiny, you see. Our hero, Ho, is a killer, but for the right reasons. We kill for the right reasons also. Mao’s Great Leap Forward is what we are talking about. We are taking it to the streets, you see. We are the vain and vacuous privileged few, you see. We call the tune, and you dance.
The global young were out to change the world to their liking. A decade later, it was all gone, or underground. The radical seeds were planted. Today, we are reaping what they had sowed.

The current Cancel culture started in the late 2010s. Any person or company deemed to have acted or spoken “unacceptably” is boycotted, shunned, and ostracized. Woke wants to cancel you just because Woke can. Cowards use social media to hide behind their keyboards to spread their hatred of others. In modern political discourse, progressivism is social liberalism. Social justice warriors adhere to socially progressive viewpoints, cultural inclusivity, and progressive economic positions. We destroy Whitey’s statues from the past to erase Whitey’s evil history.
Snowflake is a term for someone with an inflated opinion of uniqueness and entitlement. Snowflakes are easily offended and unable to deal with opposing views.
Political correctness is the mass media’s attempt to brainwash the public’s understanding of the New Left’s point of view. They are morally superior to those who have a conservative point of view.
Virtue signaling in any media is sycophantic posturing intended to convey that they are a good person by expressing acceptable opinions to the reader. Narcissists have no virtue, so they must signal it. They are not emotionally invested in being genuine. Virtue signaling undermines the quality of public moral discourse.
Progressive economic policies include the socioeconomic principles and views of social democracy, political progressivism, and cultural liberalism. To be woke is to be radically aware and justifiably paranoid. Woke is the awareness of the inequity in today’s power structures.
HOW DID THIS ALL HAPPEN? ACADEMIA DID IT.
Academia is guilty as hell and free as a bird. After the protest against the VietNam War ended, SDS, SNIC, etc., went away or underground. In the three years of peace that followed the war, more people were killed in VietNam and Cambodia than in the seventeen years of warfare. Hanoi Jane et al. were unapologetically wrong. There was no shame in being wrong. Their contempt for the deplorable never went away. The song of the 1960s was over, but the melody lingered on.
In the 1970s, the movement started the long march to take over the universities. A few decades later, they had succeeded beyond their wildest dreams.
After that success, they moved on to take overK THROUGH TWELVE. Mission accomplished a few decades later. These radicals now controlled academia. They now owned the teachers, the textbooks, and the lesson plans.
