Metaphysics is the branch of philosophy that studies the first principles of being, identity and change, space and time, causality, necessity, and possibility. It includes questions about consciousness and the relationship between mind and matter.
Your right brain is irrelevant because it isn’t interested in material reductionism. Science wants nothing to do with it because it doesn’t fit into the requisite paradigm.
Material reductionism declares that only the material world (matter) is truly real. All processes and realities observed in the universe can be explained by reducing them down to their most basic scientific components, e.g., atoms, molecules, etc.
Material reductionism is the prevailing metaphysical view that reality can only be understood in terms of non-conscious physical stuff. This is at odds with the existence of normal experiences, the flow of time, and the “be here now” perceptions of reality.
The material reductionism paradigm is being replaced. The new one will include science, philosophy, and the cause of it all, the Event Originator. The times are changing, one more time again.
The human brain has the ultimate authority regarding its own experience of creation. We are conscious actors in a vast, intricate, and
multifaceted stage of reality, comprising countless ineffable otherworldly realms.
An information-theoretic fundamental change is underway. Information theory is the scientific study of the quantification, storage, and communication of digital information. All things physical are information-theoretic in this participatory universe. The quantum information system runs things at the quantum level. Quantum information is encoded within the atomic level of the quantum system. Quantum information can be measured using Von Neumann entropy.
The world exists only if we take part in its construction. We can know things only relative to ourselves. Knowledge is restricted to the effects of things that we perceive. Contrary to the usual assumption, the mind never experiences what is “out there” apart from the mind in some clear, undistorted mirroring of experiences. In physics, information is a difference of proper information (difference of negative entropy) between the two states. The states are represented by probability distribution functions, this information is a formal operator of the two functions.
Consciousness is part of the cosmic fabric. The current materialistic and reductionistic scientific worldview is being broken by exposing a mind-matter relationship. Mind is over matter, not the other way around. Slowly, the scotomas within the current scientific paradigm are being addressed. There are alternate realms of reality out there beyond the waking mind once you get over yourself.
The master blueprint for the universe outlined this moment in time to include sentient and inquisitive minds that would repose in a neural network of organic matter. It is being driven by an innate ordering force to ever-higher levels of emergent complexity.
Consciousness can best be explained as an integrated information theory. Consciousness is a system to integrate information. Consciousness is the net product of all the other things our mind is doing, such as synchronizing sensory inputs, focusing on specific objects, accessing various types of memory, and so on. The mind oversees a vast web of incredibly complex things it needs to do. Known thought emerges from the operations of the mind.
The mind is distinct from the body and can exist without it. Substance dualism is a philosophical position compatible with most theologies that claim immortal souls occupy an independent realm of existence distinct from that of the physical world.
