Conveniently located on Ocean Isle Beach the Museum of Coastal Carolina offers coastal history of the Carolina’s. A walk through The Reef Room is the next best thing to being underwater. Experience the excellent displays of aquatic life, the tide machine, waterfowl diorama, antique fishing equipment, Carolina shells, shark teeth, and artifacts of Native American culture. Ocean Isle Beach Park…
The newest Brunswick County Park is now open at Ocean Isle Beach. Located on Old Georgetown Road, the Ocean Isle Beach Park features tennis courts, an amphitheatre, multipurpose field for football, soccer and much more, two playgrounds, picnic area and restroom facilities. The amphitheatre is designed to seat 300 with an additional space in and around the amphitheatre for lawn chairs and blankets. If you are interested in renting this space please call 910-253-2670.

On March 9, 1764, the Governor of North Carolina signed the legislative act that created Brunswick County out of New Hanover and Bladen Counties. It was named after the Town of Brunswick, which was named in honor of King George I, who was the Duke of Brunswick and Lunenburg. The County Seat was first located at Brunswick Town, a town founded by Maurice Moore, son of Governor James Moore, located on the west bank of the Cape Fear River. In 1779, the County Seat was moved to Lockwood Folly and in 1808, the County Seat was moved to Smithville, known today as Southport, where it would remain for 167 .
One of the favorite spots of vacationers and locals alike is the Ocean Isle Beach Pier. It’s filled with friendly smiling faces and a constant reminder that summer is here. The Ocean Isle Beach Fishing Pier is a great place to go have fun! The arcade features a large arcade room with a jukebox, video games, games of skill, games of chance, and billiards. The pier’s grill serves as a local favorite spot for breakfast and lunch daily with tasty eggs, grits, omelets, fluffy pancakes, etc, to a lunch menu items of cheeseburgers, chicken fingers, crispy fries, etc, with great daily lunch specials including chicken breast and pork chops. Also, the pier grill serves up a traditional Thanksgiving dinner every November before the holiday!
