Language development about 50,000 years ago allowed people to make plans, solve problems, and organize efficiently.

Humans are the only species to successfully populate, adapt to, and significantly alter wide varieties of land regions worldwide. These migrations resulted in profound historical and environmental changes worldwide.

Science says that hominids diverged from primates somewhere between 2.5 to 4.0 million years ago. They have little (to no) fossil proof that shows this divergence, hence the 1.5 million-year gap in the guess.

The aridity hypothesis says that humans evolved because they were more suited to Africa’s dry climate. (Climate change had caused the trees to go away as arid savannah regions expanded into their space.) They had to adapt to living on the ground by walking upright.
Chimps never really changed; we did.
1. We adapted to climate change.
2. We migrated into new environments.
3. We developed new technologies.
Our brain capacities increased, and tool-making began 2.3 million years ago. (Homo Habibis).
One million years ago, they started to leave Africa. (estimates go down to 70,000 years ago.) Again, scant fossil records cause all of the guessings.
The average guess was 70,000 to 100,000 years ago.
They reached Australia, Indonesia, and the surrounding islands about 50,000 years ago via canoes. At that time, it was only a 40-mile open water journey. After that, it was island hopping.
Forty thousand years ago, Siberia was next. Thirteen thousand years ago, they used the land bridge to reach North America. They allegedly did this 1,000 years before the last ice age ended. Maybe that was doable if you hug the coast or have a canoe. Walking on glaciers 1 mile deep, with no food available, would be impossible.
There have been five primary global ice ages. An ice age lasts for 100,000 years. There is a 10,000-year gap between them. We are overdue for the next one. Homo sapiens have been through ice ages.
It has been gradually cooling for the last 50 million years.
In addition to studying fossils, science explores the customs, habits, and physical makeup of Chimps and their cousins. Also, genetic or molecular dating studies are used.
95% of prehistory (up to 5,000 years ago) is still based on fossil records.
Most early human fossils have been found in the African rift valley.
We are not a one-trick pony like a chimp. We are learning new adaption tricks constantly.
We have individual learning. We also come with a collective learning ability that is built in. It is a part of our collective consciousness field.
