The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. So the Lord said, “I will blot out man whom I have created from the face of the land, man, and animals and creeping things and birds of the heavens, for I am sorry that I have made them.” But Noah found favor according to the Lord. 12,000 years ago, the Younger Dryas era started. This era lasted for 1,200 years; a global flood immediately followed this era. The Bible describes a group known as the Nephilim, who existed before the Great Flood.
The Nephilim were on the earth in those days when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. Genesis 6:4 describes the Nephilim as the fallen ones, or the giants, “mighty men of old, men of renown” who existed on earth when the “sons of God” married the daughters of man. They were giants, or hybrid offspring of fallen angels and humans.
The Younger Dryas was a cold, 1,300-year-long, and intense climate period that lasted from approximately 12,900 to 11,600 years ago, momentarily reversing the warming trend that brought the last Ice Age to a close. This abrupt event brought near-glacial conditions back to the Northern Hemisphere.
God eliminated the Nephilim, giant offspring of fallen angels and human women, primarily because their existence represented a deep corruption and rebellion against God’s created order, leading to pervasive violence and evil that necessitated the global cleansing flood, although some sources suggest later destruction of Nephilim descendants, like the Canaanites, as part of a broader judgment against wickedness. The Nephilim’s violent nature and the teaching of forbidden arts (like warfare and magic) by their angelic fathers corrupted humanity, making the flood a way to reset creation.
AFTER THE FLOOD, GOD ACHIEVED LESS EVIL ON EARTH, but it has bounced back.

Evidence of the great flood
During the Younger Dryas, sea level rose in North America as the ice sheets melted. It took the full force of the breaking floodwaters. Across the continent, scarred landscapes fossilize the memories of the enormous floods.

When the floodwaters tore across the continent, they carved out giant river valleys and ground down basalt bedrock. They carried some of the world’s largest boulders, leaving them erratically scattered in their wake.

Recently, the understanding of the end of the last ice age has revealed the possibility of an actual flood event occurring. The enormous scale and flow of water that swept across the globe as the North American ice sheet melted is unlike anything seen in modern times. It is difficult to comprehend the magnitude of the geological features left behind and even harder to imagine the power of the impossible amount of water.
