DARK MATTER is the architect of the universe. It is the canvas upon
which matter and energy paint their masterpiece. Just like the regular stuff, dark matter is believed to have been created in the Big Bang – or as one theory suggests, even before it, during a period of cosmological inflation. Either way, the structure we see out in the cosmos today would be very different without dark matter. That’s dark matter’s influence at work.
Originally known as the “missing mass,” dark matter’s existence was first inferred by Swiss American astronomer Fritz Zwicky, who in 1933 discovered that the mass of all the stars in the Coma cluster of galaxies provided only about 1 percent of the mass needed to keep the galaxies from escaping the cluster’s. Dark matter works like an attractive force — a kind of cosmic cement that holds our universe together. This is because dark matter does interact with gravity, but it doesn’t reflect, absorb or emit light.
But more-massive pieces of dark matter known as macroscopic dark matter, or macros, could lurk in the cosmos. In theory, macros could directly interact with physical objects such as human bodies, causing significant damage, according to the new study titled Death by Dark Matter. Unlike ordinary matter, dark matter does not interact with the electromagnetic force. This means it does not absorb, reflect or emit light, making it extremely hard to spot. Researchers have been able to infer the existence of dark matter only from the gravitational effect it seems to have on visible matter.
Without dark matter, there would be no galaxies. Dark matter is the glue holding galaxies and complex superstructures together.
It is unlikely to be detectable in laboratory experiments. Dark energy can’t be detected or measured. But, we can see the redshift that is being caused by the expanding universe. This is due to the stretching of the wavelengths of light. The universe’s expansion rate has been cranking up. Dark energy is thought to be very homogeneous and not very dense and is not known to interact through any of the fundamental forces other than gravity. Since it is quite lofty and un-massive—roughly 10−27 kg/m3—it is unlikely to be detectable in laboratory experiments.
Dark energy is getting stronger every day. Dark energy has the most energy of anything in the universe. Dark energy is a property of space. Space has its energy. Dark energy acts in opposition to gravity.
. Entropy can’t be decreased. We don’t know why so much anti-matter has been eliminated. Anti-matter is the opposite of matter with an opposite spin. Information can not be destroyed.

One of the consequences of general relativity is massive objects (such as a cluster of galaxies) lying between a more distant source (such as a quasar), and an observer should act as a lens to bend the light from this source. The more massive an object, the more lensing is observed.
